I read the unsigned artist article and I usually do not make comments. But the more I read, the more I felt the need to say something. It sounds to me as if the selected indie-artist are cry babies, whom don't understand the business. In addition to being flat out lazy, and view the glass as half empty. There are a million plus artist out there trying to get on. If you have a opportunity to collect a check, and work with someone established. Then that's what you do. Artist like Master P "No Limit" Baby "Cash Money" and KEM, are entrepreneurs real business minded grinders. They made the label have to deal with them. By printing and selling there own products. These cats made their own way. Not just singing a few songs, and crying cause a major didn't pick them up, or pay for videos,or you got shelved. Real entrepreneurs make a way, and last time I checked you are in the record business. If all you want to do is sing an get credit then join the church choir, you can get your shout out credits every Sunday. Now if you want credit at B of A, handle your business get good representation, put your hard hat on & go to work. Why not build on the fact that you did get selected and was paid? Do you think bad mouthing the artist that paid you, and put you on, will want to work with you again? Hello STUPID, who wants to work with a in grateful cry baby?
Conrrats to the nominees and, I gotta be a hater to the nominations comitee for not venturing ut enugh to recognize new and inventive talent under the age of 35. Next year pleeeaase!!! Check for youngsters who DO MORE, than rap!! Roll Call for new young artists ( who do btw. Have actual albums singles etc.)

OR JUST COME TO AN R&B LIVE DETROIT SHOW!!! ALL THESE ARTISTS AND MORE HAVE TOUCHED THE STAGE AT LEAST TWICE OVER OUR 5 YEARS OF CONSISTENT EXISTENCE!!
Thanks for the listing in the Blog! Excited about the nomination!
After looking at the nominees for the past couple years I have noticed that they have the same people on the ballot every year. Not taking nothing from none of the artist but I notice this group Mark Mixx & The Street Jazz Cartel on a Major Stage With Michael Franks in Concert. I met the leader Mark Mixx and was glad to be in his presence. I purchase the Cd that night and been hooked ever since. I didnt even know he was and still is a Detroiter. I did More research on this group and was amazed on their track record. Right now they have so many songs on major radio stations and making so much noise Independently. I cant believe that they are not on this ballot. And I just picked up their new album and it is just as good or even better than their first one...So people on this committee do more research on more groups before you throw your next award show.. I will not support such a bias event..
