Memorial Planned for Singer Belita Karen Woods

A memorial service for former Parliament-Funkadelic and Brainstorm singer Belita Karen Woods will be held Saturday, May 26 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Charles H. Wright Museum, located at 315 E. Warren Ave. in Detroit.

Woods died Monday, May 14, from heart failure. She was lead singer of the late 1970s R&B group, Brainstorm. She also performed with Parliament-Funkadelic for two decades, beginning in 1992.

Donations to the Belita Woods Memorial Fund can be made at any Fifth Third Bank branch office. Cards, condolences and donations to the fund can be mailed to:
