Food Service Offers Free Deliveries for Detroit Employees

Ever feel so hungry that you wish a gourmet meal could be at your fingertips in a flash? The future of food service is here! And you can try it for free starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014.

Flash Delivery, a new local grocery and food delivery service, is offering service-free food deliveries for downtown workers – running from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. – in honor of National Employee Appreciation Day.

Deliveries must be pre-ordered by 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 with discount code "FreeFriday" to be delivered free of charge the following day.

"We see it as a unique way of honoring the hard-working employees of Detroit, while also letting them learn about us and what we do," says Tatiana Grant, co-owner of Flash Delivery, in a press release. "This is a very common service in many metropolitan cities, and Flash is an additional way of improving Detroit's 'live, work and play' environment."

Flash delivers from local grocery stores, such as Lafayette Foods, and a limited list of restaurants that do not usually offer the option. Currently, 24Grille, Sala Thai, Urban Bean, Rub BBQ Pub, Bai Mai Thai, Detroit Seafood Market and Maccabees at Midtown are restaurant cuisines available for delivery by Flash Delivery.

"We want to become a staple in the business community, as well as for residents and visitors in hotels," says Grant. Flash Delivery charges $5 for
restaurant food deliveries and adjusts the charge as needed for groceries.

For a Flash delivery, the ordering process is as follows: Place your orders via FlashDeliveryMI.com or by phone at 313-784-9495. The order is then confirmed with you and the restaurant/grocery store. Restaurant orders are delivered 45-60 minutes later and groceries are delivered three to four hours later.

Delivery location must be in the greater downtown area (New Center, Midtown, Downtown, Eastern Market, Corktown or Jefferson Corridor) to receive a Flash delivery. Please note that most restaurants open at 11 a.m.
