Delta Sigma Theta passes the volunteerism torch to the Detroit Alumnae Chapter

Delta Sigma Theta Celebrates its 100-year anniversary with "100 Ways to Serve," a day of community outreach, and activities, for sorors and metro Detroiters to kick-off a year-long campaign of volunteerism. Scheduled events include: 

  • Sunrise Ceremony (Deltas Only) at 6:22 a.m. - Milliken State Park, 1900 Atwater St.,  Detroit. 
  • Community Service Activity, 9 a.m.- 11 a.m. Book and can food drive at Delta Manor, 2150 E. Vernor Highway, Detroit.
  • Delta Manor Tours, 9 a.m. 11 a.m. - Delta Manor, 2150 E. Vernor Highway, Detroit. 
  • Delta Museum Exhibition Ribbon Cutting,10:22 a.m. at the Charles H. Wright museum of African American History, 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit. 
  • Delta Open House at the Delta Service Through Delta Foundation, Inc. Headquarters (Deltas Only) at 10 a.m. Includes photos with the torch and a tour of the house. DSTDFI Headquarters, 24760 W. 7 mile, Detroit.  
  • Torch March at 3 p.m. Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School, 3200 East Lafyette St., Detroit.
  • Public Presentation on Volunteerism at 4:22 p.m. Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School, 24670 W. 7 mile, Detroit.
  • Sunset Ceremony (Deltas Only) at 7:22 p.m.1200 Elmwood St., Detroit.
