The Detroit Princess Riverboat will offer two Valentine’s-themed cruises. The Valentine's Dockside Dinner, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., features a prime rib dinner and buffet, music and a cash bar. The Valentine's Dockside Moonlight Party, from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., will feature a cash bar, concessions and dancing.

Take some time out together to explore one (or several) of the city’s many cultural institutions, for example:
- The Virgil H. Carr Cultural Arts Center celebrates FELA!, the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts presents comedian D.L. Hughley, the Charles H. Wright Museum presents an ambitious art exhibit, the Detroit Zoo offers a "wild weekend", the Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit re-opens with a plethora of events and the Detroit Film Theatre presents this year's Oscar-nominated short films.
- The award-winning Broadway musical Fela! opens Valentine’s night at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit.
- Painting with a Twist will host two love-themed events, “Passion” on Saturday, Feb. 11 and “Falling in Love” on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, Feb. 14. You can also paint your own pottery at Creative Arts Studio in Royal Oak or The Painted Pot in Rochester.
- The Majestic offers couples a romantic evening at the Garden Bowl with one hour of open bowling and a heart-shaped pizza. Reservation required. Special runs Sunday, Feb. 12 through Tuesday, Feb. 14.

- Have a romantic Valentine’s Getaway at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, featuring champagne, delicious culinary delights and other treats.
- Immerse spa at MGM Grand Detroit offers couples the chance to enjoy special spa treatment packages every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the month.

- Try Kundalini Yoga at Inspiration Yoga Studio in Ferndale or a hustle work out at the Charles H. Wright Museum.
