Ferndale entrepreneur puts movement back in Motown

Ferndale entrepreneur Andy Didorosi puts movement back in Motown with his latest venture, the Detroit Bus Company, a small transit system providing rides into downtown Detroit.

Redesigned 60-passenger school buses take passengers to various locations such as Midtown, Corktown and Woodbridge.

For $5, riders can hop on and off all day. Customers can contact the bus via text message or Twitter to be picked up along the route. A map and tracking app are available on the company’s website.

Didorosi, 25, says he’s not competing with Detroit’s public transit system; he just wants to connect communities.

“The more we separate the city from its suburbs,” he says, “we have more issues.”
