Michigan Opera Theatre's annual fundraising soiree is back and honoring the community's connection to the theatre and to Detroit.
You’re invited to get dressed up and party with Michigan Opera Theatre on June 7, while celebrating the connection between the theater, the city and its residents. BravoBRAVO! promises a variety of attractions and interactive activities throughout the evening meant to explore Detroit’s history and architecture, while, of course, you dine and dance until your heart’s content.
“BravoBRAVO! has become one of Detroit’s most anticipated events, and we are honored to mark its 20th anniversary with a soiree that celebrates guests’ personal connections to the theater and city,” says MOT chief development officer Frankie Piccirilli.
Guests of the black-tie event will enjoy refreshments courtesy of the area’s most talked-about restaurant and live entertainment including a participatory painting exhibition, a poetry slam and music. Anticipate performances by Richard Leech, renowned tenor at the Metropolitan Opera House, and local beatboxer Stevie Soul, among others.
A VIP ticket will gain you access to a silent disco by Urban Fêtes presented by NerdsXpress in a private lounge, Sky Deck photo opportunities, complimentary makeup touch-ups and more. All ticketholders get free entry into the official BravoBRAVO! afterparty at 3Fifty Terrace, led by DJ Godfather.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit MOT’s Create and Perform program, a two-week summer workshop where students ages 8-12 use improvisation to create their own stories, music compositions and dances, culminating in a final performance.
“BravoBRAVO is a staple of the Detroit Opera House, but it (is) also an important fundraiser for Michigan Opera Theatre,” Piccirilli says. “While enjoying an evening mingling a dancing, guests support the opera company’s outreach efforts to bring arts to the community.”
